August is National Immunization Awareness Month. As we all prepare for BACK TO SCHOOL, it is important that your child’s immunizations are up to date. It is important for families to recognize that vaccinations are throughout the lifespan. Vaccines begin at birth and continue into mature adulthood (>65yo). Vaccinations prevent infectious diseases that can cause significant morbidity and death. We all benefit when everyone participates in this important public and personal health effort.
I have come across 2 parenting resources that I want to share with the community.
1. 3 DayPotty Training by Lora Jensen
A member of our Palisades Pediatrics community brought the potty training book to my attention. It is a good practical approach to toilet training. It may not work for everyone, but it is something to consider.
The second book, I am actually reading now and I love it. It is a must read for everyone. Georgetown Day School is hosting the author to speak about her book on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 7p at the High School, 4200 Davenport, Washington, DC. If you are able to make it you should come out and hear her speak. I will definitely be there.
